Established in 2013, Wedgewood Groundworks is a family owned Groundworks and Construction Company based in Devon and operating throughout the UK, with current projects in Derby, High Wycombe, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
We have over 10 years’ experience in the residential, renewable energy, utility, industrial and commercial sectors.
Using our own specialist teams, we work as professional main and sub-contractors providing civil engineering, construction and demolition expertise for small, medium and large projects.
We have recently undertaken a number of specialist projects including industrial building civils and groundworks, residential demolition and groundworks, renewable energy infrastructure works, directional drilling for services infrastructure, fibre installation and deep drainage.
All projects undertaken are managed personally by Will, Ian and Charlie. The Health and Safety aspect of each project is managed by Andrew Friend, as the safety of our workforce is of principal concern.
Then there is the office, which is the hub of the business and is run by Sharon.
As part of our service, we have consultant structural, drainage and highways engineers to advise us on all aspects of Groundworks and building design together with a land surveyor who sets out our projects to exacting standards. Furthermore, we have introduced 3D Leica machine control to our excavators and dozers.
We are also an experienced Principal Contractor enabling us to ensure all of the requirements under the CDM regulations 2015 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 are complied with, through issuing the F10 notice to compiling the Construction Phase Plan and having regular H&S inspections from our independent adviser Atlas Health and Safety Management.
We also hold accreditations with several specialist health and safety accreditation registers.
Furthermore, we have our own in-house Health and Safety adviser Andrew Friend who is tasked with the training of our staff. All of our staff are CSCS accredited and our site managers are all SMSTS / SSSTS accredited.
Wedgewood Groundworks has a workforce of over thirty people from our local area with many of our employees starting with us when we started 7 years ago.
We have the capability to undertake a variety of different Groundworks projects and pride ourselves on our specialist equipment such as the directional drill. We have our own equipment and run our own Lorries, so we can react to projects quickly only hiring in machinery when required.
Our Groundworks business turnover is circa £6 million per annum; this has steadily increased over the past 7 years and is still increasing.
